Valve for Train Door Control

Apr 01,2025

This solenoid valve is designed to control train doors and can be used as a replacement for a competitor's type EVF3240-9DO-X145.

How the valve is being used:

Schematic MHOH

The valve features a normally open solenoid system with a dominating piston on solenoid side 14. In a de-energized state, the valve is in the left "Door enable" switching position. The air passage is open from 1 to 4, meaning the train door closes or remains in the closed position.

To switch the valve to the "Door open" position, an additional electrical current must be applied to solenoid side 12. When current is supplied to solenoid sides 12 and 14, the air passage shifts from 1 to 2, causing the train door to open.

The dominating piston on solenoid side 14 ensures that the valve returns to the "Door enable" position as soon as the current to solenoid side 14 is removed. In this case, the current at solenoid side 12 is irrelevant—the valve will safely return to the "Door enable" position.
